Today our Hobie Tandem went home with someone else.
Cindy and I had discussed what to do with it a few times over the past year -- ever since buying Shearwater -- and finally decided that we should sell the Tandem since it wasn't being used.
It was a bittersweet day for both of us, but more so for Cindy since it was her favorite sailboat of all time.
Fortunately the buyers are good friends of ours -- we've known them for over 20 years, gone tent camping with them many times and they helped us when we took delivery on Shearwater last year. It seems only fitting that the Tandem will go to someone that has wanted a sailboat for years and years, and now finally has one that's a proven and solid performer.
We wish Kim and Eric all the best with the Tandem and know that they'll take care of it properly.
