Point Lookout lighthouse at sunrise

This is what I was intending to shoot so early in the morning on Sunday.


Below is the confluence bar in the distance.

Note that the entire roof of the lighthouse appears to be damaged from Hurricane Sandy.



I suspect these may be old walls from Hammond General Hospital, dating back to the Civil War.  It was the first time I'd ever seen them, since they're normally hidden by undergrowth during the warmer months.

An old fence or gate from the past.

Point Lookout is normally alive with shore fishermen, families having picnics, boaters and the like... but not this time.  I was the only person in the entire place, with the exception of a lone park ranger that was mounting a notice on a display board near the empty boat ramps.
