It’s been 303 days since I posted anything here. Needless to say, I was busy finishing up my Master’s, travelling, moving, and my new job but at the same time I have been avoiding updating my blogs. I enjoy travelling and taking pictures but when it comes to processing pictures and updating blog, I tend to ignore doing it. I have lot to fill in, not even sure where to start from-Virginia, West Virginia, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana. Lately, I have been driving/photographing upstate NY, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.
Here are few things I learned during my trips-- I don't think much about my photography, I just go for it. I also realized that to be a photographer you do not need to be an artist. I can never make myself read any books on photography, I find it very difficult. I learn from my mistakes and Google is a get source for help. I find plenty of inspiration from the images I see on Flickr so I have never studied any particular photographer. I also found I go through slumps where I don’t take pictures for months after my road trips. Photography makes you travel and search for beautiful places, experience new cultures, and meet people. Finally, to me photography is all about Passion, Patience, and Persistence. Alright, those were my random thoughts. Anyway, I am off to Colorado this weekend. I am planning to hike the highest point in CO, Mt. Elbert. Hope there is not lot of snow.
The picture below is probably from my last day in Virginia. For old time’s shake, my buddy and I wanted to hike up Windy Rock. The overcast weather and muddy road changed our mind. We all went back to our apartment and called it a day. As I was unpacking my equipment, I saw the sky opening up and I just knew the sky is going to explode. So, I drove to this spot and stood there as the colors started unfolding. Virginia is always going to have special place in my heart; never-ending mountains, waterfalls, narrow curvy roads, and so much more.
