I am swarmed with thesis work this week so after lot of contemplation, I  finally decided to drive up to Heritage Park for some sunset pictures. Once I got there, the sunset was very boring and dull so I decided to drive further down the road just to take a break from my computer desk. I saw couple of horses grazing at Walnut Spring Stable and there was nobody in sight. I felt like I just hit the jackpot because I have been wanting to take some pictures of horses for quite a bit. I only had may be good 10 minutes of light before it started getting dark so I tried to get best out of it. I met three horses in particular. Let me introduce my new friends.

I am calling this dude Joey. He was the strongest and the most dominant of all. He just had this attitude  that said don't mess with me. He didn't let other horses touch him or eat his portion of grass. He just walked up to me for this shot. There is one common thing between Joey and me, we both have  an awful looking fohawk hair cut.

I am calling her Sally. She is my favorite. We were just attached to each other. It was love at first sight. She followed me the whole time and I petted her for couple of minutes and she liked it too. You can notice the crack on the fence getting bigger, I was trying to get some space to take her picture but she couldn't be away from me. I am gonna bring her box of carrots next time.

This guy was a Debbie downer. He almost did not move the whole time I was there, just looked sad and stood by himself but he had the most beautiful combination of colors.
I spent maybe 10 minutes with these beautiful animals but I felt so attached to them. Hopefully I will see them again. All these pictures were taken hand-held at f2.8 at 17mm, ISO 100 with Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5. Then I added finishing touches in Photoshop
