If you are in DC area you can see this monument from everywhere. This monument was built to commemorate the first U.S. president, General George Washington. According to wiki, the monument is made of marble, granite, and sandstone and it is both the world's tallest stone structure and the world's tallest obelisk, standing 555 feet 5⅛ inches.

This picture was taken using a tripod at three exposures (0, -2, +2ev) at f9.5 at 17mm, ISO 100 with Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5. Then I used Photomatix to create a HDR image. I also added finishing touch in Photoshop.
