Here is the sunset from last night. I stacked 0.6 Lee filter & 0.9 Singh Ray GND filter to get this result. This was my first time using Lee filters. I wasn't sure how this picture was going to turn around especially stacking two different brands.
This is just my initial observation, please correct me if I am wrong--Lee filters are cheaper and has no color cast compare to Singh Ray (minimal color cast) but they both are very good filters. Lee filters have become scarce commodity and Singh Rays are pretty expensive. I wish I could get special discount from Singh Ray since my last name is Singh.
I find myself drifting away from HDR Photography. I haven't done one for ages. I use to love it but I find it overwhelming especially with landscape pictures. Its very hard to maintain the natural essence. I just bought couple of Graduated Filters which is very helpful capturing the dynamic range of lights. I am not trying to boycott or bash HDR photography. I still think HDR is the way to go when it come to cityscape and night photography. Unfortunately there isn't lot you can do here in Blacksburg when it comes to both cityscape and night photography.
